José is an accomplished singer and guitarist able to perform a wide range of material in both Spanish and English. He has a guitar style that is both melodic and rhythmic having studied flamenco in Spain and also played in a diverse range of styles in the U.K. His voice lends itself perfectly to interpreting songs by The Gypsy Kings, José Feliciano,The Buena Vista Social Club and other well-known Latin-American and Spanish artists.

The combined talents of José León and Diego Monsalve create the diverse and authentic latin sound of Sol y Sombra (Sun and Shade).

Diego is an accomplished pianist, flute player and singer whose music evokes that special flavour of his native Colombia while perfectly complementing José's style.

Playing material ranging from romantic Boleros to upbeat Cha Cha Chas and Rumbas, they cover songs by The Gipsy Kings, José Feliciano, The Buena Vista Social Club and other well-known Latin American and Spanish artists.

Being sensitive to the needs of clients, they are able to adapt their performance to suit any atmosphere whether mellow and relaxing or lively and animated. Equipped with a compact Bose P.A. system, they provide a high quality sound that is pleasing to the ear at any appropriate volume.

Either as a duo or further enhanced by the addition of a percussionist and other instruments, Sol y Sombra are guaranteed to add that "Latin flavour" to any event whether it be a corporate function , wedding party or theme night
