When you want your festival or party to feature some authentic classic Caribbean grooves, Kaiso (pronounced Ky-so) have got to be your first call. "Kaiso" is a Trinidadian word for "calypso", and all the musicians' roots lead back to that island.
Kaiso plays reggae, calypso, soca, and ska but they're funky and jazzy too so don't be surprised at hearing a whole lot of other black music styles coming at you during a typical set. They are all fully-pro session musicians who individually write, play and produce for a whole lot of other people many of whom are 'name' artists.
The line-up goes from a minimum 5 piece, consisting of: drums, bass guitar, guitar, vocals and steel pans, but they can add extra percussion, brass or keyboards for bigger shows/stages.
They have 8 years of experience, playing everything from society functions/weddings through to festivals, and must be one of few bands to play for BOTH Mick Jagger AND Paul McCartney!
They can be booked to play purely Reggae or soca/calypso but an average gig includes both. And last but by no means least they're a truly 'live' band with fabulous soloists and a rhythm section that can jam and groove with the very best.
