Zumbida have been performing and recordung for 6 years, and have leapt to fame since being joined by lead singer Tammi Pane in 1999.
Their performances are powerful, dynamic and engaging. Soul Diva Tammi sings in fluent Portuguese (and occasional English), with strands of magical flute weaving around her voice.
The
whole band is driven by the strong authentic brazilian percussion
section, displaying a whole power station of energy, echoed in the
amazing vocals! With the jazzy guitar riffs and thumping bass, this
translates directly to the audience on the dance floor - they cannot
NOT dance to this music!
Their repertoire includes styles such as:full-on samba grooves, hot brazilian songs, samba-reggae, funky fusions, pagode, marracatu, etc etc...
And finally, the musicians are nearly all women!!
