3-5 piece Scottish Mexican Mariachi band, based in Glasgow, Scotland

Rapido Mariachi are Scotland's premier Mexican fiesta outfit.

Mariachis are traditionally acoustic bands originating in Jalisco, and are hired for all events - weddings, parties, fiestas, serenades. Recognisable by their distinctive sound, sharp suits, and fancy sombreros, typical songs are rancheras (Cielito Lindo), fast polkas (Adelita), and ballads (Ella). Mariachi bands have recently grown in popularity in the UK, since there has been wide exposure to Mariachi music on TV.

Rapido Mariachi have played at all sorts of events throughout the UK and recently appeared on BBC Radio Scotland's Global Gathering.

The band consists of Trumpets Guitars, Bass, Accordion and Voices.

They can play amplified on stage or wandering minstrels, indoors or out...

The Mariachi Rapido band's repertoire may include some of the music performed by the Mariachi Doritos band with whom they have no connection or involvement.

Venezuelan Carmen - on vocals, and also 4 Scottish musicians on Trumpet, Accordian, Guitar, Bass, Vihuela Guitar, Percussion, Backing Vocals
